What we treat

Four reasons people come in

If what you have is not on this list, ring us. Half of what we do is telling people honestly whether physiotherapy is the right answer.

Pain & injury

Pain & injury

The everyday things — a back that went in the garden, a knee that will not settle, a shoulder that has been bad for two years. Assessment, hands-on treatment and a plan you can do at home.

  • One-hour assessment
  • Hands-on treatment
  • Home plan with video
Book an assessment
Post-operative rehab

Post-operative rehab

Structured rehabilitation after joint replacement, ligament reconstruction or spinal surgery, working to your surgeon’s protocol and reporting back to them.

  • We contact your surgeon
  • Staged, measured progression
  • Gym and pool access

Sport & performance

Sport & performance

Getting you back to the thing you actually want to do, with objective testing rather than a guess about whether you are ready.

  • Force-plate testing
  • Return-to-sport criteria
  • Strength programming

Pelvic health, back pain in pregnancy and structured postnatal recovery, in a room where you are welcome to bring the baby.

Your first visit

What actually happens

No mystery, no upselling. Here is the whole thing, start to finish.

  1. You get in touch

Book online or ring reception. If you are not sure we are right for you, say so and we will tell you honestly.

    5 minutes
  2. Assessment

A full hour. History, movement testing, hands-on examination, and an explanation of what we think is going on in plain words.

    60 minutes
  3. The plan

You leave with a written plan, a realistic timeframe, and exercises filmed on the day so you know exactly what they should look like.

    Same day
  4. Follow-up

Usually three to six sessions, spaced further apart as you improve. We tell you when to stop coming rather than waiting for you to decide.

    3–6 sessions
  5. Discharge & check-in

A discharge summary for you and your GP, and a free check-in call at six weeks to make sure it held.

Patients

What people say afterwards

The first appointment was the first time anyone had explained what was actually wrong with my back rather than just poking it.
Michael D. Lower back pain
I saw Priya through pregnancy and after. I brought the baby to every session and nobody once made me feel awkward about it.
Hannah S. Postnatal recovery
Discharged after four sessions when I fully expected to be sold twelve. That is why I have sent four people here since.
Ruth A. Shoulder injury
Callum got me back on a bike after a knee reconstruction, and made me prove I was ready rather than guess.
Owen J. ACL rehabilitation

Questions

What people ask reception

Do I need a GP referral?

No. You can book directly. Some insurance policies require a referral before they will reimburse — we will check that with you before your first appointment rather than after.

How many sessions will I need?

Most people need between three and six. We will give you an honest estimate at the end of the assessment, and if it turns out to be fewer we will discharge you early.

Will it hurt?

Assessment can be uncomfortable because we need to reproduce your symptoms to understand them. Treatment should not be painful, and nothing happens without us explaining it first.

What should I wear?

Something you can move in and that lets us see the area — shorts for a knee or hip, a vest top for a shoulder. There are changing rooms and spare kit if you have come from work.

Which insurers do you work with?

Bupa, AXA Health, Aviva, Vitality and WPA are billed directly. We can invoice any other insurer for you to claim back, and we will give you the codes they ask for.

Can I bring my child or baby?

Yes. There is a play corner in reception and babies are welcome in any appointment, particularly the postnatal ones.

Tell us what hurts

If you are not sure whether we are the right people, write and ask. We would rather send you somewhere better than take a booking we cannot help with.
